MICHAEL GOLDBERG, TRUSTEE

Michael Goldberg was appointed pursuant to the Debtors Joint Second Modified Plan as Trustee of the GWG Litigation Trust.  Michael is responsible for investigating and prosecuting potential claims owned by the Litigation Trust against third parties who may have contributed to GWG’s failures.

Effective as of August 1, 2023, the GWG Litigation Trust was formed to investigate and prosecute potential claims owned by the Litigation Trust against third parties who may have contributed to GWG’s failures. These actions were referred to in the bankruptcy case as the “Retained Causes of Action” [see link]. The Litigation Trustee hired highly respected counsel on a contingency basis to represent the Litigation Trust.  The Trustee and counsel are investigating potential claims. At this point in time, it is simply too early to determine what, if any, money will be recovered by the Litigation Trust. However, Mr. Goldberg assures you that he and his counsel are thoroughly investigating these potential causes of action to be pursued for the benefit of the beneficiaries of the Trust of the Wind Down Trust.
